TBI Milestones

1999

Company Founded

Kara Tokita & Brad Bethune partnered together on their event management & marketing skills to create TokitaBethune, and a new event & marketing agency was born.
2000

AT&T & Nokia 25-City Golf Tour

AT&T  Wireless & Nokia Mobile Phones hired TokitaBethune to manage their B2B  events whichentailed golf tournaments in 25 different cities for both  top customers and prospective clients throughout the US for three consecutive  years. TBI secured golf announcers & pros like David Feherty, Peter  Kostis, Chip Beck, Andy Bean and dozens of others to come in and assist with  clinics and awards for the tournaments.
2001

Microsoft Industry Trade Shows

PPI company contracts TokitaBethune to manage  over (100) Microsoft tradeshows, including their largest tradeshow events and  participation all over the US.
2002

Sonicare Industry Trade Shows

Philips hires TokitaBethune to manage their Sonicare brand industry tradeshows and participation around the US.
2003

Microsoft Executive Conference

Microsoft asked TokitaBethune to produce their exclusive Microsoft Executive Circle conference for their top executives and partners, including sessions by CEO Steve Ballmer. TBI managed this event for 8 years until Microsoft  changed the direction of the event.
2004

RealNetworks at Euro Disneyland

RealNetworks hired TokitaBethune to manage their company meetings at Euro Disneyland where we helped oversee their tradeshow, conference and 1:1 partner meetings.
2005

Nokia ProAm Golf Tournament for the Stars

Tournament founder and Hall-of-Fame golfer Johnny Miller teamed up with title sponsor Nokia & TokitaBethune to host golf’s biggest legends in his annual golf  tournament, Nokia Champion’s Challenge. Some of the celebrities included Jack Nicklaus, Bill Casper, Hale Irwin, Mike Weir, Bill Murray and Nancy Lopez, just to name a few.
2005

SweetFest Launch

TokitaBethune created and produced a new Festival based around everything “sweet!” Cakes, cookies, candy, ice cream and  more!  We incorporated cooking  demonstrations, healthy alternatives, free tastings, a kids zone with  interactive activities, live entertainment and displays of the area’s top  chef’s amazing pastry work. Proceeds went to Seattle Mariner pitcher, Jamie Moyer and his nonprofit organization, the Moyer Foundation.
2006

Intel & Microsoft 64-Bit Driver

Intel & Microsoft teamed up and had TBI manage a series of trade shows taking us to Tokyo, Taipei and San Francisco.
2007

Samsung Bumbershoot Music Festival

Samsung was named title sponsor of the  premier Seattle music festival’s main stage and hosted headlining bands like  Death Cab for Cutie, Black Eyed Peas, Band of Horses and Paramore just to  name a few. Samsung hired TokitaBethune to manage their mobile phone activations throughout the festival, including designing and running their talent and hospitality tents in the main stage area.
2008

World’s Largest Youth Film Festival

The National Film Festival for Talented Youth is one of the largest film  festivals for emerging directors and was started in 2007. Founder, Jesse Harris hired TokitaBethune to help manage the logistics and activities  throughout the festival and we have partnered and continue to support NFFTY  ever since.
2009

Samsung & T-Mobile 5-City Tour with Emmy Winners Quest Crew

Samsung contacted and hired Tokita Bethune for a launch of their Behold II  phone. TBI pitched the creative and concept and hired America's Best Dance Crew, Winners Quest Crew to tour with them to 5 cities to demo and  showcase the new phone. These performances and activations were a hit  with the public and clients, and continue to get views and comments from fans  on YouTube to this day!
2010

Microsoft Blogger Lounge @ SXSW

Microsoft Windows Phone & TechSet hired TokitaBethune to manage all the activities  within the Blogger Lounge during the SXSW event that included hosted radio interviews, live entertainment, happy hour and special guest speakers like CEO Tony Hsieh of the on-line shoe and clothing company, Zappos.
2011

Microsoft 25-City Tour

Microsoft hired TokitaBethune to manage their 25-city SMB (small & medium business) Channel events around the US that entailed workshops and evening receptions  for their partners.
2012

NHL Winter Classic

Twin brothers Chris & Peter Ferraro were professional hockey players with a successful career of years playing in the NHL, AHL, IHL and the 1994 Olympics. They partnered with TokitaBethune at the NHL Winter Classic to produce media content to help  promote retiring athletes extend their professional sponsorships.
2013

Orange Institute Hollywood Meetings

TokitaBethune  coordinated C-level meetings and presentations at Warner Bros. Studios, 20thCentury Fox, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences (the Oscars!), Stanford Faculty Club and others, as well as some private dinners at Hollywood’s fanciest for top French Executives from the Orange Institute.
2014

Microsoft International 40-City Tour

Microsoft secured TokitaBethune to manage their 40-city International tour, “Road to  the Cloud,” which hosted workshops to foster cloud learning and adoption with  Microsoft partners.
2015

Fox Sports US Open Golf Tournament

TokitaBethune is awarded the account with Fox Sports in managing the Hospitality Suite for  their top executives and customers during the US Open at Chambers Bay Golf  course.
2016

NFL Football

Title sponsor American Family Insurance signs a contract with TokitaBethune to manage all of their home game activations for the Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers.
2017

Atlanta United

American Family Insurance contracted with TokitaBethune to manage the Atlanta United home game activations at the brand new Mercedes Benz station in Atlanta. The TBI team oversaw the full fan activations inside and outside the stadium managing hundreds of staff throughout the soccer season.
2018

Master’s Golf

VMWare hosts and entertains their elite customers at one of the top major  championships in professional golf, the Masters!Tokita Bethune was hired to manage this "white glove" experience throughout their  contracted period, and managed everything from the entire customer  experience, researching and securing housing, transportation to and from the  tournament, as well as private chef in house dining experiences!
2019

Women’s Tech Conference

Women in Cloud is a community-led initiative supporting female technology entrepreneurs by creating access to partnership  opportunities, programs that accelerate business growth in the cloud and  strategic alliances that advance the success of women in tech. TokitaBethune was hired and responsible for all logistics and managed everything from the Welcome reception, registration and the on-site logistics at the Microsoft Conference Center.
2020

Coronavirus & Virtual Events

Microsoft Bing hired us to help coordinate their international annual awards dinner and conference. Due to COVID-19, we cancelled the in-person conference but hosted a virtual meeting & awards program instead.
2021

Return to In-Person Events

With a vaccine now available, we see the return of in-person events, beginning with the Seahawks at Touchdown City as well as street teams for Bartell Drugs. In addition, Digital Asset hired us for a dozen international events.
2022

The World Back to Normal

International events with Digital Asset have taken off again, with events in Amsterdam, Ireland and London. NFFTY was back to an in-person festival, starting with a celebration of the founder's first film available on Netflix (Borrego). And of course, swarms of Seahawk fans rush to Touchdown City to celebrate their team with a new quarterback.

What type of events does TokitaBethune specialize in?

We specialize in a wide variety of events including executive meetings, concerts, conferences, tradeshows, team building, incentive retreats, galas, film festivals, sporting events, company meetings, training & education programs, golf tournaments, holiday parties, fundraisers,  non-profit, weddings, virtual meetings, nonprofit, weddings, virtual meetings and so much more!  We are a well rounded agency that does it all!

What types of services does TokitaBethune offer?

We pride ourselves in being a one stop shop that can assist you with any of your event needs.  From graphic design, cad floor plans to catering and virtual events.  We do it all!

How early should you start planning an event?

Every event is different, so it depends on how much you're handling vs. what you would like us to manage: 

Small event (up to 100 people): I would plan at least (2-3) months in advance.

Medium sized event (100-200 people): I would plan at least (3-4) months in advance.  

Large event
(up to 500 people): I would plan at least (5-6) months in advance.

Extra-large (500 people): I would plan a year in advance. The longer the lead time, the more we are able to help save you money in negotiating contracts, finding the best venue and all the other important details that will help you have a successful event!

Do you work with other professionals for your events?

We have been in the event industry for over 30+ years so we have developed incredible working relationships with other experts in their fields and will partner with them depending on the project. We expect a lot from our partners and our clients benefit from these amazing resources!

How far will you travel for an event?

Even though we are located in Seattle, our clients have taken us all over the world and we take pride in that we can adapt to any of our surroundings and will produce and manage an event no matter the location. We have worked in over (54) US cities & (28) international cities over six continents hosting multiple events in each city over the years.  We even have staff in a lot of these cities who are ready and willing to work with us on your event!

What are some tips you can give to clients to help plan for an event?

List out your goals and what you are wanting to achieve for your event.  It's ok if you don't know how to bring everything together. That's our expertise and where we like to help our clients with creativity and a game plan. We have been told by clients that we've gone over and beyond what they ever thought they could achieve, and we strive to accomplish that for all of our clients!
